Interim Plans in Response to COVID-19

Staying spiritually connected while physically distancing

Clergy and staff from all of our synagogue communities are committed to supporting our entire community even when we cannot be close to each other physically. Social distancing does not mean social isolation. This website contains a compilation of resources, activities, and media in order for you and your children to remain connected to Jewish community and Torah during this challenging time. Join in activities, learning, and worshiping throughout the week.

Interim Plans in Response to COVID-19

“We are all responsible for/to one another” (Sanhedrin 27b)

We are making every effort to offer services/programs remotely indefinitely (links will be provided on the website and calendar), and at minimum through April 19. When remote gathering is not an option, we will cancel or postpone the event. We will continue to provide updates via email and on our website.

ANY events you have registered and paid for that are canceled:

  • We would sooo appreciate you making the amount you paid a donation
  • Refunds will be issued at your request (please email Myka Thompson to initiate)

All committee meetings should be held by remote conferencing, whenever possible.

  • Temple staff will provide committee chairs with resources for virtual meetings.
  • Links will be provided on the website and calendar.

Worship services will look different.

  • Friday nights: Our clergy will create and share worship experiences with us remotely
  • Saturday mornings: Our lay-led Torah study group will meet virtually at 9am and all are welcome to join (link provided via email or on the temple website)
    • Conservative Shabbat Morning worship is canceled, and all are invited to join Torah study online at 9am or to view the videos provided to worship at any time you choose
    • Clergy will be working 1:1 with previously scheduled b’nai mitzvah families to decide how to proceed with creating meaningful lifecycle events (in example, it may be postponed or conducted remotely)
  • Tuesday nights: Refuat Hanefesh Minyanim (our healing service) will be facilitated by Marty Stein virtually

Adult education will be offered remotely, when possible. Links provided below and on the calendar.

B’tzalel workshops through April 20 are canceled. Due to the cancellation of classes and practices we have postponed the May 31st B’tzalel Arts & Music Festival Celebration.

  • Any workshop that you had registered and paid for can be refunded to you. If you would like to donate the registration fee back to the temple that would be very generous.

Our Early Childhood Center is closed indefinitely (beginning Monday, March 16.) Our hope is to re-open on or after April 20 (if not before) once spring break and Passover closures are complete. As the situation evolves, we will continue to monitor and evaluate the situation and communicate with you weekly with updates.

  • We are committed to paying our teaching staff through the closure
  • We invite everyone to help us make this financial commitment feasible by
    • Making additional contributions online here
    • Not requesting a refund for tuition or program fees and instead making them a donation
    • Pre-paying contributions and catching up on outstanding balances
  • Tuition refunds will be given upon request for April 1st and forward

Religious School Programs will look different.

  • Friday Shabbat Chai programs on April 17 are canceled.
  • Monday Hebrew School is meeting remotely, and class information (per class) is on the religious school webpage

This is a time when we ask our community to come together, even if not physically together, to continue living our Jewish lives and values together, in new ways. Our Clergy will continue to be available to our congregation. We will be working to re-imagine programs in an effort to help our congregation celebrate and worship together. We plan to share updates weekly, and will look forward to experiencing the joys of our community learning, worshiping, connecting, giving, and navigating this journey in the coming weeks
