With so many competing activities, the desire to build a college resume, and the pressures of school, peer group, and identity formation, being a teen is extremely challenging. Our teens need a place where they can be themselves, discover what is important to them, experience the power of their heritage, and build caring relationships.
Our Kehillah teen programs hold these goals as their core foundations. All of the learning programs are taught by our rabbis, giving our teens mentorship and support during this exciting and difficult time of growth. Our advanced leadership program is “Madrikhim,” where students serve as teacher assistants in our Shabbat Chai and Hebrew programs. They assist the teachers while learning to facilitate classroom activities as well as plan and teach lessons on their own. Madrikhim will meet with their coordinator, Sherri Krause, on a bi-weekly basis (Tuesday evenings).
Our youth group program is successfully planned by our BESTY teen board with guidance from our BESTY adult advisor.
